I checked with my local Weed Eater Authorized service (75 miles up the road). He said he couldn't get the 10x4.00 4 tires. Checked with the local Tractor Factory and they said I could use 11x4.00 but would have to re-adjust the tilt on the deck. No problems.
the front tires split on the sidewalls - service center and Tractor Factory said "made in China" - you get what you pay for.
Yep - you get what u pay for "made in china". Best bet, I found, was Western Auto/True Value. Get the 11x4.00 AND innertubes. I also had them put a bottle of "slime" into the innertube (we have lots of goat heads and medquite thorns here in high desert). Re-setting the height on the cutting deck is a no-brainer and took a crescent wrench and about 10 minutes (thats 5 minutes getting up and down with a peg leg).
I checked and Tractor Factory could "order" the tires but would take 10-14 business days to come in - - Western Auto had them in storck.
Harbor Freight sells wheels that will work. It's just that they have 5/8" bearings that you need to change out to use 3/4" ID bearings
You will need a pair. Ace hardware sells them in their drawers, but they are expensive and eBay is about half price. Then you need some 3/4" fender washers to use as spacers. Once you have done that, if you ever need a tire or tube again, it's cheap, quick, and easy. Harbor Freight or any Home Depot or Lowes will have the parts handy.
You can buy a tire similar in size at harbor tools and then just replace the tire and the tube. I ordered mine trough Sears but in 2014 I got a tire manufactured in 2010 and it cost me almost 56 dls for one. The treat inside went in 4 months of maybe 4 uses and i had to replace it.
Harbor tools is the cheapest so far.
