    Question:
I purchased 18" Husq 450 chainsaw and noticed there is not a hole in the bar tip to lubricate the tip sprocket. I am concerned not lubricating the sprocket will cause a problem in the future. Please explain why there is no lubricating hole. thanks, John

      John,

I believe the theory on the bars without the grease fitting hole, Is that the bar chain oil is sufficient to keep the sprocket nose lubricated.

I would recommend If you thoroughly clean the bar from time to time, Use an auto mechanics oil squirt can full of bar oil, and squirt a shot or two into the nose sprocket, Keeping the bar and chain, and clutch cover clean on a regular basis, I believe is the real life saver to keeping everything working and in good condition.

Also those bars that still have the grease fitting holes, I still like using the grease gun.

      Just my thoughts!
