    Question:
Hi, I have a YTH2046 tractor/mower. The steering alignment has gone grossly out of whack and while I can still mow, the handling is very "squirrely".

I've got an engineering degree and have done all my own maintenance on the tractor. I've used it hard, and it's held up well, but I've broken and replaced several parts myself (blades, spindles, a fuel solenoid, etc.) I also do all my own preventive maintenance on the machine. I'm not scared of turning a wrench on my italian motorcyclce, so no fear about touching my lawn tractor.

That said, I can't for the life of me figure out how to adjust the alignment on my front wheels. There is a reference to having this done at a shop. I've got two issues with this. First is that I should be able to do this my *** self. Second is that my local shop can't do it for 2 weeks and that just seems too long.

Can you please provide me some detail on how to make alignment adjustments on the wheels? They're severely "toed-out" and I'd like to fix it myself.

    Thanks and best,
    Sam

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

The cause of this is because the front axle cradel has been damaged and moved rearwards, when the front axle is pushed back the TOE is changed form a slight TOE IN of 1/4" to a TOE OUT.

We do sell adjustable draglinks that can over come this.
