    Question:
I have the 13 hp. stump grinder. I see that the cutter teeth are a new design which i believe is better than the old style. the old style are short which allows the cutter wheel to be closer to a hazard such as a hidden rock or concrete. can i use the newer style teeth? mine is about 2 years old and only used very little? the purchasing dealer didn't seem to have any information or wasn't going to help. thank you

     Ben,

Thanks for contacting Husqvarna to post your question.

We regret any confusion regarding Stump Grinder cutting teeth, but the old style had longer teeth; they were mounted in clamps mounted to the side of the wheel disk and protruded on each side of the disk. The later style has three inseert-type cutter teeth which mount. Which mount into pockets which are very close to the outside edge of the cutter disk.

We have not experimented with changing from one style of disk/cutter to the other, but the Parts Lists do appear to indicate the bearing support and bearings for the disk mounting shaft are the same on both configurations, so if you would like to see if that change-over is possible, you should contact your area Husqvarna Parts & Service Dealer to have him assist you in reviewing that possibility.
