    Question:
We're about to purchase a two-stage snow blower to use on our 100' drive. We are worried because our drive is a dirt drive with some small stones and gravel. We've never had a snow blower and fear that even though we'll try to get any loose stones/gravel off the drive, some will still remain and ruin the snow blower.

    What do you suggest?

Is it possible to raise the front end of it so it doesn't scrape/clear down to the surface of the driveway?

The very last thing we want is to ruin such an expensive piece of equipment.

    Thanks for any advice.

Thank you for considering a Husqvarna product. In the case of determining which type of snow thrower to purchase there are 2 main thing to consider.

#1 The amount of snow your environment offers you to process. The single stage unit is great for lesser amounts of snow removal for example, clearing sidewalks and driveways with limited amounts of accumulation. The 2 stage units are more effective in processing larger amounts and heavier snow like lake effect.

#2 The cost. The single stage units are simply less expensive.

All in all stones and other debris will ultimately wear on the components eventually.

I hope that this helps you to make a more informed decision.

Note: I am originally from the western NY area and we only purchased 2 stage snow throwers.
