    Question:
A while back I asked about my new 455 Rancher that started throwing the chain every time I start it up -- reference number 120128-000157. The answer indicated that I must have bound the saw up somehow and bent the bar. I was told that once the chain has been thrown the it is junk too. So...

I tried a new chain. It threw the chain immediately, as soon as I started the saw and hit the throttle the first time. So I bought a new bar and another chain. It threw the chain immediately, as soon as I started the saw and hit the throttle the first time!!

This saw was purchased on 10/29/2011. It was used maybe a total of 90 minutes, to cut some trees that had already been felled by a professional company. I am pretty sure I didn't bind the saw at all. At any rate - it is pretty much worthless as it is. Any ideas what to do next?

By the away: I bought the thing I was thinking the Husqvarna name meant it was a bit more durable and of higher quality than the cheaper Home Depot saw I replaced. The Home Depot saw has about 10 years on it, has never had to have the bar replaced, and was worked hard clearing land, probably about 60 hours per year. Thank heaven it still works, since my new saw does not.

    Hi Damien

Thanks for contacting the Answer Army to post your questions.

Check the bar if it has the label "FT" or Farm Tough on it. If it does, take it in and have the bar replaced with the HT bar. Have your sprocket checked to see if it has been burred by the chain being kicked off. If it has, replace that as well. Your entry states that the saw was purchased 10/11'. Take your saw as it is to an authorized dealer with the sales receipt and have them call us on the Tech line so that we can get this issue corrected. Give the dealer the reference #

120310-000230 and tell them to call in with that number so we can discuss the necessary steps to correct the problem and get you back to cutting wood. Thanks for contacting Husqvarna, I appologize for the issues you have had with this saw, but if you take it in and have the dealer call us, we will get this issue resolved.

Thanks again from the Husqvarna Technical Services Team
