    Question:
223L---slings debris all over me; never had a trimmer do this in the past.

After use I'm covered in grass and have been beat to crap and back with rocks, sand, any type of debri in my yard.

Is there some I can do to correct this?

It makes using the product very unpleasant.

    Fred,

Hi and thanks for using the Answer Army to post your question.

The 223L is a machine with two purposes, it is a string trimmer and a clearing saw. It should have been offered with two guards, one is smaller to accommodate for the blade and the other one is for grass.

The part number for the grass guard is 503934202, but to be completely honest with you I've never operated a trimmer that didn't get debris all over my lower legs and feet. One thing you can try that has helped me to reduce the amount of debris is to use the machine with the trimmer head level with the ground. More often than not people tip the head so that the rear of the trimmer head is pointing upward. Which will cover you in lawn clippings.

If you have the blade guard and would like to get the grass guard, you can either get in touch with a dealer or go through an online retailer. I have attached links at the bottom of this page. The first is to our dealer locator and the rest are for online retailers.
