    Question:
    Pedal/transmission Sticking
    Details:

I have had the YTA18542 tractor for almost a year. Second cut of the season and yesterday the pedal kept getting stuck in either the forward or reverse position, had to really step down hard in the opposite direction to get it to stop. What could be happening? This thing is practically new and I paid a hell of a lot of $ to be having problems so soon. Please advise.

I have the same problem -- but I just purchased my mower on May 31, 2017 -- used it 4 times.  Have you gotten an answer or repair for this issue?

No Sabrina ... I haven't received any feedback. Hard to believe we're the only 2 with this problem. Still having the same issue intermittently, some days worse than others.

I have a new YTA 22V46 so I don't know if this will apply to yours but I think it should.  I had the same issue of the pedal sticking and looked all over the net for an answer with no luck so I do what I do and started investigating on the machine.  The problem I found is dust and dirt.  The forward reverse pedal connect under the "dash" to a rod that runs back under the sheet metal floor into the top of the CVT transmission. If you reach in under the fender above the rear tire onto the top of the rear end/transmission while wiggling (don't move much as you can get your fingers pinched) the forward/reverse pedal.   You can feel the rod moving on top of the transmission.  It connects to a shaft that comes out of the transmission top.  Now you've located the spot of the issue.  There's a groove the shaft out of the transmission that the rod from the pedals connects to that slides along a groove/slot when shifted forward or reverse.  This groove is in a curve to move the shifter over and gets dirt/debris in it.  It's hard to clean without a few minutes of work.  The easiest way is to lift the seat, disconnect the battery and seat safety sensor plug and then remove the battery and battery box.  You can then see right down on top of the transmission and easily see the groove and shaft and rod when you wiggle the pedal.  I took a pressure washer and really washed this groove out.  I don't think putting any lubricant would be good as it would attract dirt.  This groove seems to be a dust tans dirt trap.  Not the best design but I love the mower otherwise.  I'll just plan on this wash out being part of my maintenance.  May be able to wash out from the wheel well without the battery removal but haven't tried that as it's right under there with the battery box installed.

Thank you both for responding.  My mower was brand new -- I spoke to a Husqvarna customer service rep. -- not much help. Lowes Home Improvement store actually took the mower back and replaced it with a new one.  Hopefully I won't have this issue with the new mower but if I do, I'll check the "problem area" under the seat.  Thank you both for your responses.  If it happens again and I can correct the problem with a good cleaning, I'll be sure to post that information here as well.

      Happy Mowing -- I hope!
