Riding Lawn Mowers

Have a new Yth22v46 lawn tractor that cuts too low. The deck has a max setting of 2 &3/4" with height handle in the #6 slot. This is the height I got when I leveled deck according to manual. Went to where I bought tractor(Lowes) & and talked to Lowes' tech guy that puts all the Husq. products together. He said I did things right. You look at all the other tractors on the floor &and they have same problem. Right side of deck is 2 1/2" ,so you have to lower the left side to level everything. This is with height raised #6. So you end up with a height of between 2 1/2-2 3/4". Problem is all our fescue grass needs to be cut a min 3 1/2" in summer. Right now I burn the grass every time we mow. So what gives? I should be able to have a 3 1/2 " deck cut height ,right"? Really could use & desperately need a good answer. Local service guy (Jim's Auto) said it must have a bent part. I told him not true,and the story about all the floor models just like mine at local Lowes.
