    Question:
I have a 223L that was having power problems, as in it would not cut anything without the motor shutting off. So I have replaced the carburetor and air filter and I am still having the same problem. When I first start it, it is at full RPM's. When I pull the trigger and release it, it slows down to a decent idle. But when I pull on the trigger, it starts to bog down and will not increase in power so as to cut anything. Could this be a spark plug or muffler issue?

Could be the muffler spark arrester but also still the carburetor if it hasn't been properly tuned to your engine. This something that I must do on nearly on all new carburetor installation as they only preset at the factory.
