Question:
I just bought a new 1830EXLT from a dealer 3hrs away, when I got it home and unloaded it I noticed that when I go forward with it, it takes about 5 seconds to start moving, In reverse it is instant. Also when I drove it into my shed at the top of the incline it stops and I have to give it a push to get going again. I called the dealer and they said they think there was an adjustment for the hydrostatic drive which I don't see. So I don't know what to do, this is the most money I've ever spent on a piece of yard equipment and I want it fixed before the snow flies.
Answer
So upon closer inspection, I found that the dealer had set the drive handle on the weakest setting so the belt was just slipping. I adjusted the tension on the handle and it seemed to do the trick. It would be really nice if the owners manual would show the information for things like this instead of having to call a dealer or go online for such a simple fix.
