Question:
I have a poulan pro pp4218avx chainsaw that will only start when it's cold after about ten minutes of operation it won't start again. Why won't it start when it's warm could this have something to do with the points going bad effecting the spark or something?
P.S I'm pretty handy so can I order parts and repair myself?

It is upsetting that you have had this failure.
The unit does not have traditional points and condenser it is electronic ignition. The time period you describe could be tank venting (fuel delivery) or ignition related. Depending on how old the unit is there could be warranty it has a 2 year consumer warranty to the original purchaser, the commercial warranty is a shorter period of time. I would encourage that testing be done before ordering parts as parts replacement type of repair can get expensive and may be unnecessary.
