    Question:
I recently purchased a new Husqvarna 455 Rancher Chain saw which came witha 20" bar and chain. Bar is labeled 3/8 - 72DL and chain has #80 on each link. On one of the teeth it is only a half tooth, Is this Normal? Where the wear Indicator would normally be, to not sharpen beyond this point, the tooth is ground off, This chain has never been sharpened, and came with the new chainsaw. Is this a warranty Issue? Or how can I get a replacement chain?

Sometimes chains come like that. Nothing to worry about. But if it makes you feel safe, go ahead and buy a new chain.

Marc Thanks, Who do I send the bill and shipping charges to for the new chain ? This was a brand new chain saw, which at the time of my posted message should be under warranty! It will probably be about $35.00 with shipping to replace this chain on a brand new chainsaw.  Also this chain tooth is not exceptable since it does not show the wear mark as to how far you can file and re-sharpen the tooth, and I will also get a lot less sharpenings out of the chain maybe half because only half the tooth is there.

Regrettably, that item is not covered under any type of warranty as it's considered a consumable item. However, looking at that chain photo you provided, I can assure you 100% that the chain is safe for use and that tooth can be sharpened as much as the rest. That is actually the final link on the chain, meaning, that is where the chain was connected and "rolled"
