    Question:
Replacing starter assembly housing and pawl assembly for asb3206
    Details:

I am having a hard time installing the starter housing and pawl assembly on my McCulloch back-pack blower. One of the plastic levers in the pawl assembly was broken causing the string to stay out and not be recoiled to the blower. I took apart and lost some parts from the recoil assembly, so I know that I had to replace that. Then when I started looking at the engine side of the blower I saw that one of the plastic levers was not in the same way as the other one. I have a friend with the piston stop tool, we used that and took off the pawl assembly. Then I installed the new one I ordered from the searspartsdirect web site, and it went on with out a problem. I then in stalled the new starter recoil housing and found that it fit perfectly, but when I tried to start the blower it would not grab and turn over. I have taken it apart several times to see if I did something wrong, and can not find a way to get the blower to start as of yet. I have noticed that when I pull the chord slowly it does grab and wants to start, but as soon as I go to pull hard enough to start it doesn't grab on properly. Please help me, I don't know what to do. The part numbers I ordered are 574590001 pawl assembly, and 575630501 starter recoil assembly. Thank you so much for your time.
