    Question:
    11/13/2011
I purchase a Husgvarna model number 1130SBLSB snow thrower in late winter of 2009. Have been very disappointed with the operation the snow thrower. The problem with this unit is that the it is highly gear that it is impossible to set the speed control low enough to walk behind. The speed control is set as low as possible without the unit going into reverse. I have taken the unit back to Southwest Ag in Bayfield Colorado twice. The first time they replace the friction drive wheel because I was trying to control the drive speed with the traction drive control lever. The second time I returned it to the dealer to see if they could reduce the drive speed. They said they could not adjust that feature and that was just the way the unit works. I am looking at the coming winter and I have a snow thrower with about 2 hours of use that I am convinced that will not meet my needs. I hope there is a fix or modification that will make this snow thrower usable.
    Regards,

    Hi Earl,

Thank you for contacting Husqvarna. Sorry your having trouble with your snow thrower. The dealer is correct that is a fixed speed transmission. I don't know why yours would be any different than the rest of the units out there. We are not getting any complaints regarding ground speed. You could get it to the dealer to confirm you have all the right drive train components. You could potentially change the pulley on the engine to slow it down but we don't have a kit or part numbers to do so. That would be something you would have to pursue on your own. All we can do is ensure that your machine was built to specifications. Hope this helps.
