My YTH24K48 tractor manual says to push the oil dipstick all...escalated

Question:
My YTH24K48 tractor manual says to push the oil dipstick all the way in to check the oil level, whereas the Kohler manual says to leave it after it just touchs the spout. Which is correct??
Also, the Husky manual says the oil drain is on the left, whereas it is on the right as per the Kohler manual. Please fix!
