    Question:
I have a Husqvarna residential zero-turn mower model# Z4824, part# 968 99 95 12 Z4824. The mower is just over three years old with exactly 39.2 hours on the motor. The problem is when the blade switch is engaged the blades starts and then stops every few seconds and then stops working completely. I've replaced the switch first and then the very expensive blade clutch. What's another solution? The part# 968 99 95 12 Z4824 is also the serial number. Sears sells this mower for extra large yards or lots. I mow a one acre yard (12)times a summer, small work for a product with the Husqvarna name on it, right?

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting you have had this problem.

We do not like to see people just replace parts, this is an expensive way to fix a machine. At three years old I would start by looking at the battery, do you have to jump start this machine? The indication you have here is a weak battery or a poor connection, not supplying enough power to the PTO clutch. If your battery is good then I would say get the machine to your local authorized service center for repairs.

The battery is perfect, pull the choke, turn the key and it starts--twin cylinders and all! Not even a hesitation or stall. A Husqvarna not used in commercial work should be tougher, would you agree? If there is a poor connection, can you assist me in the procedure of troubleshooting the connection?

Nelson, I am having the same issue with my zero turn. Did anyone ever get back to you about what to check?

The plug for the clutch is on the side were the starter is,check to see with the key on not running with the PTO pull if you have voltage on the plug that goes to the clutch it should be 12v.The clutch is a spring loaded if it is not adjusted right it will loose contact and shut off it self.
