Question:
I have a pzt6126 zero turn mower. Recently I have had trouble getting it to crank. I have to jump the mower off in order to get it to start, and the battery doesn't seem to be charging while the engine is running. When I try to start it the engine won't even turn over. I don't believe that it is an issue with the battery itself because I have replaced the battery twice. Any advice to what the issue might be would be great.
Answer
Have you checked your valve clearances? This depends which engine your have as the pzt6126 came with a couple different and make and models not noted in the IPL.
Most OHV engines have decompression systems that don't work when the valves get out adjustment.
Also when the engine is running the battery should have charging voltage of 13v to approximately 14.5v DC.
