    Question:
    Hello,
I have purchased a Poulan Pro 4218. the first time it was used, it ran about 1 hour then would not accept any fuel. The next day it fired right up and the Primer bulb worked.
The next time it was used (6 mos. later) it did the same thing. Finally got it running again, then it quit getting any Spark at all to the Plug. What could be the problem? Thank you.

    Hi David,

Thanks for contacting the Answer Army to post your questions.

It sounds like a fuel problem. Fuel will only last about 3 weeks before it starts to separate and cause clogging of the jets in your carburetor. My best recommendation is to only get as much fuel as you can go through in less than a month. Secondly use a fuel mix that has a fuel stabilizer mix in with it, this will prolong the life of the fuel. Thirdly the use of a good mid-grade gas (89 octane) is recommended. Lastly when you are finished with your job run the machine out of the stabilized fuel, including the primer bulb. When it starts to choke out push the bulb many time to completely purge the line.

With all of that said it may need to have the carburetor serviced through one of our authorized service technicians. I have attached a link to help you find a dealer in your area.
