try this (worked for me with a gt48xlsi)  sit on seat, push 123 (3 times), then push 1, then push 1 and 3 together and hold for approx. 3 seconds. this should turn the light blinking green and the switch is reset to factory settings.  you should then be able to change the code as you wish doing the standard procedure.

Kudos to Allan Weed - This problem was frustrating me to no end.

However, his instruction was a bit ambiguous - at first I tried pushing the 123 keys together 3 times... no joy. Then tried his instructions pressing one key at a time and it worked!!!

      To clarify:

sit on seat, start key light starts flashing blue
push the numbered keys one at a time in the following sequence:
      1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1

then push 1 and 3 together and hold for approx. 3 seconds.
this turned the start switch to flashing green (start enabled)

I then followed the manual's programming instructions step by step, and this time, instead of flashing red when I entered my custom code, it turned green.

Evidently this is a secret code provided to authorized maintainers so that they can fix mowers without knowing the customers' custom codes.

Glad it worked Ralph.  Sorry for the unclear instructions.

I have a similar problem. Sit on seat, ignition switch shows all indicator lights then goes to flashing blue. Put in code, then light goes solid blue and no response. Cannot get to green. Tried "123" routine discussed earlier but no luck. Thoughts?

I am having similar trouble. The answer above missed out on what exactly I need to do after the start switch flashes green.

The manual's programming instructions says the switch should be flashing blue before holding down buttons 1 & 3 for three seconds. Do I wait until the switch goes from flashing green to flashing blue before holding down 1 & 3 for three seconds, or try whilst it is still flashing green?

Or wait until it powers down completely, and then try resetting the code?

I do know that if I start pushing the buttons in the wrong sequence at any time, it goes into spasms, and I can't do anything.

        Any help will be appreciated.
