    Question:
How can I level the mower deck on the Weed Eater One after bagger install? The Bagger pushes the right side down when installed. I think this is responsible for the massive shudder when engaging the blade and un-even cutting. The adjustment nut on the linkage for leveling instructions in the manual is already fully seated and can't raise the right side any more as needed. Help.

Thank you for contacting Answer ARMY.

You can find your local Weed Eater dealers for sales and service as well as manuals and a place to order
parts using the link provided http://www.weedeater.com choose the appropriate link at the bottom of the
    page.

Service Locator  (Canadian customers use postal code no spacing)
    Contact Us
    Download Manuals
Order Parts (This is a third party company not Weed Eater)  or can contact local dealer.

Your local dealer is your best and fastest source of information.

At this point if the link is adjusted all the way up, I would suggest that you take the unit to an authorized service center for inspection. I would like for the dealer to find out if something is binding and or if a linkage is bent or damaged.

        Scott,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I was really hoping not to get the standard "take it to the service center" response. Not sure its worth the effort for the issue I'm having.  I have no truck and would have to strip it down to get in my SUV.  After cancer treatments I bought this to reduce effort in my lawn care.  It looks and runs like a champ.  Its just an alignment issue that cannot be made as the unit is designed.  I find it impossible to believe that no-one else has had this issue when installing the bagger kit. After all my pre-purchase research and two calls to the 1-800 tech reps at Weed Eater I could work for that answer line! Lol.  Sorry to say the reps there had no clue about this product. I was actually embarrased for them.

There is no binding. The adjustment linkage is very easy to see and is not bent.  Its as simple as the rigidity of the grass chute, and its alignment when clipped to mower deck back to the grass bin, pushes the right mower deck down slightly and there is no thread left in the adjustment linkage to lift it the 1/4-1/2 inch that would level the deck.

In an email, another rep suggested moving the drawbar plate on the rear of the machine (comes with bagger kit, 4 bolts, replaces factory plate) to the left,  WHAT!? Have these folks seen this part?  Do they have an assembled unit to look at before they make suggestions? 4 bolts in holes that must be exactly aligned to even start them.  I needed a rubber mallet just to get it aligned to install it.  If I could just adjust the bagger at the rear, or its mounting bracket, adjusted a little higher it would lift the right side the small distance I need.  Just tell me where to put a shim, or how to maybe lower the "left" side deck a little, and I will solve this.  There has to be a simple way that is alluding us at this point.  PLEASE....look at the drawings or an actual unit.  I'm not being contentious or dis-respectful, but the recommendations I have received (2) do not make sense when you look at the manual.

        Thanks again, Scott,

        Eddie

Eddie, while I understand your reluctance to take the unit in to a servicing dealer, doe to health and convenience issues.  I believe this is the correct course of action. My concern is that something may actually be tweaked or bent and if not then the dealers service personnell can work with the technical support staff to find a resolution. The servicing dealer should be able to repair the unit and once that is done if found to be a defect they would file a warranty, that warranty is part of how the manufacturing facilities get their feed back. I am concerned that we are not having this complaint wide spread. As a side note even on larger machines when a collection system is added the mower needs to be releveled because of the additional weight added by not only the tube bt the weight of the grass in the tube.

        Scott,

Understood.  I'm going to remove the bagger assy. and re-level the deck.  Then I'll re-install and see if there is a difference.  Just curious, but when I received this and assembled, should that leveling nut on the linkage have been all the way up (like it is), or should there be some thread play left on it?  Anyway, if i get no joy after re-installing, I'll take it in to a pro at the service center. Luckily I have two to choose from relativley close by. Hell, this could be in my mind, and the slight down push is normal.

I really love this mower and want to be pleased in my decision to buy it.  I'm holding off feedback on the Home Depot website until this is resolved and I get a couple of uses out of it. I found most of the complaints/issues that I have read are due to people simply not reading the manual thoroughly and watching your videos.  Great help there.

        Thanks,

        Eddie
