    Question:
I believe I read that the weed eater 1 rider could cut grass from 4 inches down to a couple... I see that in the heighth adjuster there are only 3 slots. The top one seems to not make any difference in height so that must be 4 inches. I need to cut my grass at 3 inches so when I drop it down to the next slot my grass is too short and gets scalded. What exactly is the height for those 3 slots. I don't want to waste gas and mow on 4 when it looks shabby afterward but i don't want my grass to burn either by going lower...Can you help?!

    Thank you for contacting AnswerARMY.

    From the operators manual.

The cutting height range is approximately 1-1/2 to 4". The heights are measured from the ground to the blade tip with the engine not running. These heights are approximate and may vary depending upon soil conditions, height of grass and types of grass being mowed.

    • The average lawn should be cut to approximately 2-1/2" during the cool season and to over 3" during hot months. For healthier and better looking lawns, mow often and after moderate growth.

    • For best cutting performance, grass over

The adjustments are approximations, the selector plate for this model has 4 notches, Approximately the top or transport notch is 4" and the next one down is approximately 3-3/16 of an inch then approximately 2-3/8 of an inch and finally the bottom is approximately 1-1/2 of an inch.

This is affected by tire pressure, blade level, and mowing surface.

If you continue to have concerns please contact your local authorized WeedEater service center.

6" in height should be mowed twice. Make the first cut relatively high; the second to desired height.
