Kenneth,
Thank you for contacting Answer Army. Without knowing the exact model that you purchased, I am unable to tell if you reached the limit of the mower or not. Below are comments from the Owner's Manual that provides helpful hints for operating on inclines. We recommend while operating it to immediately dump the grass bag when it is full. That way when you operate on a slope it will not create as much stress to drive the unit. Then of course over time, the more stress placed on the belt the less tension it has to drive the unit.
Slopes are a major factor related to slip and fall accidents which can result in severe injury. All slopes require extra caution. If you feel uneasy on a slope, do not mow it.
DO:
• Mow across the face of slopes: never up and down. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.
• Remove obstacles such as rocks, tree limbs, etc.
• Watch for holes, ruts, or bumps. Tall grass can hide obstacles.
Thank you again for contacting us on Answer Army.
