    Question:
Shame on Husqvarna to continue manufacturing weed trimmers with plastic that is ground up when the pull cord is used. How can consumers get the parts designer to fix this known flaw?
    Details:

I've replaced the starter assembly once already, but of course metal on plastic is getting ground up again. The warning, "don't pull out the rope" is useless. If the machine started, we wouldn't keep pulling the rope further out. The expert reply is that the part is made from plastic to protect from the engine heat. Since Husqvarna lined the plastic screw holes of the housing so that the metal screws won't eat this plastic -- which isn't under the stress of the starter assembly, why can't they line the plastic where they KNOW metal will actually be stressed against plastic? I truly am frustrated and disgusted that our $230 weed trimmer (223L) is nonfunctional most of the time. The part has been on backorder so I've ordered and bought the whole assembly at still a three week wait, and an hour driving back and forth to the nearest Husqvarna authorized parts place. Now, the replacement is broken after only two weed trimming sessions!I'm frustrated at pulling this machine apart, so called the shop to ask their cost to rereplace the part. The repairman told me at 30-45 minutes at $60.00 per hour, plus tax, and the $12-$15 part. At that, each weed eating session is about $30 plus the hour spent driving to drop off and pick it up. And, the weeds get ahead while we wait for the next plastic to be ground up. I'm ready to buy one with a plug in electric start, just so I don't have the risk of another pull cord assembly that's JUNK! Thet trimmer is an absolute beast to the weeds when it works. And, it got great reviews because they don't keep using the machines for months and years. We got less than three months of use from it on the first starter assembly, and the second assembly unit has only lasted TWO weed eating session! RRRRRRRGH! Please give feedback to the designer of parts to fix this. AND, Husqvarna SHOULD supply the repair part free of charge to customers who they supplied with expensive JUNK!
