    Question:
I have a Poulan Pro Yard Tractor, model# PB20H46YT, product# 960420037, serial# 122006D001860. My fuel tank developed several cracks in the bottom and needless to say won't hold fuel any more. I ordered the replacement part,#407489 from the dealer from which it was purchased. The Tank came in, I started to reassemble the tractor and the dash cover wouldn't go back on. The mount bracket that holds the blade engagement lever hits the top of the tank. Upon comparison the original tank is considerable lower at that point. The dealer has checked on this and all the tanks that all the venders have in stock for my application are the same as the tank that was sent as a direct replacement and the dealer has informed me that it is in the manufacturers hands as to what they are going to do. I bought this rider approx. 3 or 4 years ago so its not that old and has lots of life left. So if the manufacturer reads this question I would like to know how we are going to fix this problem because its been a few weeks now and I have been improvising to get my lawn mowed. I paid a lot of money for this unit and its only got 80 hours on the unit. I need a fuel tank. The balls in your court Husqvarna.

Contacted  Husqvarna by phone, was told the tank I received is the only replacement they manufacture for that model, which my guess is its used in several models across the board. Seems like the engineers didn't bother to check the fitment on all the models they say use this fuel tank. I was told that's all they can do for me. Only after asking them several times what are they going to do about this problem did they say they would see what they can do. Its been approx. 3 weeks since our conversation and I haven't heard anything from Husqvarna. Looks like I'm in the same boat as a lot of other Husqvarna product owners, I am stuck with this product and solving the problem is left up to me. Well I can safely say from here on out I will research any product that I purchase in the future and if its manufactured by Husqvarna, it will not be purchased by me since it appears that Husqvarna does not stand behind their product.
