    I have heard or read somewhere that there is a difference on the serial number plate if it is silver lettering on a black plate or black lettering on a silver plate. If this is true can you tell me the difference.

       Hi Barry.

      Husqvarna units manufactured in Sweden in previous years did come with a proprietary serial number badge.

      Since we became a house of brands you will see variations on the type of plates used for the Serial numbers, some units will use a black plate with silver lettering, others will use a silver plate or even adhesive decals to identify the Serial number. The Serial number itself will be the only difference as it identifies the year and date it was manufactured and also at which location. as far as the plates go , no there's no difference anymore.
