Oiling of the needle bearing helps keep the machine running smoothly. The picture 110 shows the procedure for oiling the bearing itself. The reason you can't see the bearing is because it's behind the clutch drum and removing the clutch is a task that is meant for a qualified technician with the proper tools.
As far as the oil, you should use what is listed in the owners manual, grease will work but it's not as fluid as oil and may cause more debris to stick to the clutch assembly than oil would.
