    Question:
    Hello AnswerArmy-Husqvarna;

    I have a 2005 Husqvarna 395xp chainsaw, and I wanted to stock a spare muffler as these rust quite quickly. I noticed my parts list give three versions for the muffler:

    *compl 503 71 13-07 (FF)
    **compl 503 71 13-04 (Europe)
    **compl 503 71 13-05 (DJ)
    *
    I think I need the "FF" type, but am asking if you can tell me what are the physical differences between these three types, as far are there functions with the saw. (More out of curiosity). Thank you again, and I love this saw, has never let me down.

     Hi William,

    Thanks for using the Answer Army to post your questions.

    Yes you are correct. In the US you would need to use a type FF as this type is to meet EPA spec.

    The FF style has 2 chambers with a spark arrester.

    The DJ is a 1 chamber without a spark arrester, not for use on chainsaws.
