    Question:
    I have a 9 years old Husqvarna walk-behind lawnmower model 580R with a Briggs&Stratton engine model 126602 0130 E1.
My problem is when the unit was new it was very quiet while running but now it has become very loud, so loud I have to close the windows to the house because of the noise.
I replaced the muffler, adjusted the valves and cleaned the carburetor, and it is still as loud as ever. All of these attempts to quiet the unit were suggested by Briggs&Stratton. Any suggestions?

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

I would suggest your talk to your local Briggs and Stratton dealer, about your exhaust options. Briggs and Stratton typically offers a variety of mufflers for the same engine, they have what are called Low Tone mufflers, these will be the quietest available.

You can find your local authroized Briggs and Stratton dealer using the dealer locator on the website http://www.briggsandstratton.com.
