    Question:
Hello, I recently purchased an ST 227P snowblower with heated grips. Because of the lack of snow fall so far, I have not had to use the unit but one time but I am noticing that the heated grips don't seem to be heating the grips as they should with the switch in the "O" position. I ran it last night for at least 5 minutes just to be sure and they are definitely not getting warm. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this problem?

    Thank you!

That would a Zero and represents "Off". Its the "1" (one) position for on.

I contacted Husqvarna and their rep stated that the "O" is the on position, not the "---" although they had to ask someone. It's pretty stupid that they did not use the words on and off. Either way, I believe I tested it in both positions just in case but maybe I did not let it run long enough, I Was told that you should feel the grips get warm in just a matter of minutes, if that.

Are you speaking from experience Eugene?

Just that most switches are label 0 and 1 with 1 being on. Maybe they change the graphics, And no experience, I have never seen a snowblower here in the South. Sorry just trying to help.

If I had access to the switch I would ohm it out to see which is the on position but I don't here.

Have you had any success? I just used my ST224 for the first time and the heated grips did nothing. I had it on both settings for about 10 minutes each.

I recently purchased the ST224 and also found that the heated handles seem to do nothing.  The machine works just fine other than this issue.

      Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi all. I got frustrated that no one answers this. I pulled the switch out from the dash and saw one wire fastener was not all the way on. I pushed it in and tried it. Seems to get warm but nothing to brag about. Check your wires.

I spoke to the repairman at the local small engine repair shop. They do warranty work on this brand.  He told me that the hand warmer unit is apparently deflective and he has changed out several of them this season under warranty. It takes little time to install the replacement unit once the part is in stock.  I will be hauling my machine there soon!

Hopefully it will be kicking out heat soon, although it seems our big snow is done here in ND!  I am OK with that!

I purchased my blower in Jan 2017 - works fine but, like others, I don't  feel any heat from the grips.

Today, I called the dealer and he said they have never had any difficulty with this.  However, looking at this site, it appears that we are all having the same problem.  I will take mine back in after the season.

I have the same problem.  Purchased an ST230 last January, and never had them working!
