    Question:
While using my new Rancher 455 the decompression valve just blew off of the chainsaw. It is a threaded part looks a bit like a spark plug. Can this be repaired by the homeowner or should it go to warranty repair?

    Ron,

The repair should be completed by your local dealer. The reason for this is simple, if the decompression value pulled the threads out of the cylinder metal particles could have fallen into the cylinder. To replace the valve may be as simple as just *** it back in the hole. To prevent any damage to the saw, have it checked out.
