    Question:
I'm considering buying a Husqvarna blower (125B or 125BVX). All I want is a blower, but the 125BVX is said to have "Smart Start" and the 125B doesn't. For someone who doesn't want the vac package, is it worth paying the extra $40 for Smart Start?
    Thanks!
    Details:

Thanks for the response, which if I am interpreting it correctly, says that the 125B doesn't need Smart Start because of lack of impeller.  Right?

Thank you for contacting the Answer Army.

The Smart Start® enables the blower to start quickly with minimum resistance. Resistance in the starter cord is reduced by up to 40%.

Attached to the 125BVX impeller is a mulch blade or fail blade which makes the blower a little more difficult to pull over. The Smart Start® system allows for easier pull of the starter cord.

Please contact an authorized Husqvarna dealer in your area for possible product demonstration.

Do yourself a favor and buy a different model.  I purchased a Poulon Pro blower years ago and it worked fine for about 3 years, which I consider acceptable because it was not very expensive, about $100.  I purchased a new one at Lowes this past spring and it was horrible.  Very difficult to start and would not stay running (the oil/gas mix was correct).  I took it back to Lowes and upgraded to a Husqvarna 125B Series which was about $150.  I loved it.  It started reliably and always stayed running when idling.  I used it about 2 weeks, 2-3 times/day for about 5 minutes each time.  Then the purge bulb cracked.  You couldn't start it without getting gas all over your fingers.  I took it back to Lowes, and they gave a new one, same model.  Exact same thing happened.  Unit works fine, but after about the 15th-20th time of starting it, the purge bulb cracked again.   You don't engineer a blower that requires pushing the purge bulb 10 times every time you start it, then use a purge bulb that only has a life expectance of about 200 pushes.  It's either a poorly engineered unit, or perhaps the purge bulbs are defective.
