    Question:
What are the correct torque values for the blades on a Z254?

    I purchased my Z254, Serial: 030216C009866, on April 27, 2016.

Under the "MAINTENANCE" section of my owner's manual, page 27, "Blade Replacement" it says "5. Torque blade bolt to 45-60 ft/lbs (60-81 Nm)".

But on page 34 of the same manual, under "TECHNICAL DATA", it says "Blade Bolt 90 ft/lbs".

    Which value is correct?

This discrepancy can result in a very dangerous situation: If the value on page 27 is correct, and one uses the value on page 34, the blade bolts could be weakened or even "twisted off" while installing new blades.

OR if the value on page 34 is correct and the lower value on page 27 is used, then the blades could come loose while mowing!!!

Whichever value is correct, Husqvarna MUST issue an IMMEDIATE correction to it's owner manual for ALL purchasers of a Z254, and NOTIFY all users individually before someone may be injured.

I use 55-60 ft-lbs for all star mount blades. The 7/16-20 Grade 8 max torque spec is 78 fl-lbs dry so 90 ft-lbs is definitely over doing it
