    Question:
I am trying to locate the correct Illustrated Parts List for my 359 chainsaw. I purchased it 01-03-2003, the operators manual reads "Operators Manual EPA 1 357XP 359" on the front. The data plate reads 967 04 13-00 02 3400911.

I pinched the saw in a tree and turned it loose as a result i broke the trigger assembly and housing along with the bar. I need to purchase some repair parts for it.

I downloaded an IPL that reads 357XP, 359 357XP EPA1 359 EPA1 but the part numbers on some of the items are different and i believe that is for the 2003 and 2004 models.

If you could guide me to the correct IPL i would appreciate it.

    Thank You

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting that you have had this problem.

First you should determine the year and week your saw was produced. Find the serial number and either put 20 or 199 in front of the serial to determine the year so for example 01-0200001 put 20 in front of the serial it is is a total of 9 digits it the serial is 7 digits long add 199 to the beginning of the serial number the example is 9-4300001. The first being a 2001 and the second being a 1999 the first two digits after the - are the week of the year of production.

Find the manual that closely precedes the DOM of your 359 the manuals are dated year and month not year and week and not year and year, it is Year and Month of the date the manual went into effect.  So a manual dated 03-04 or 2003-04 means the manual goes into effect April 1st 2003 and remains in effect till the next manual date.
