HU725AWD lest than 10 months old just blew the crankshaft through the engine casing. Motor is not covered in the Husqvarna warranty, who does cover the motor? Is this Briggs and Stratton, if so what is the protocol to follow?

If it is Briggs it would to looked by an authorized Briggs service center. Depending on what caused the rod to break would determined if cover by warranty or not. Most times it is a lack of oil which is not covered causing the rod to overheat and stick to the crankshaft journal.
I purchased one these engine back in the spring that had less than 30 min run on it where the operator never put any oil at all in the engine. Of course it had thrown the rod the side of the engine.
