It sounds like something may be wrong with the clutch. I would suggest removing and Inspecting the clutch, I would also clean the clutch and drive sprocket thoroughly, and then re-lubricate the sprocket bearing. Do not get any grease or oil inside the clutch or drum of the drive sprocket, just clean it.
