Walk Behind Lawn Mowers

Just purchased RDW Husqvarna 22 inch mower. Called your 1-800 number and found out they know nothing about your product. Disappointed that I was unable to speak with a company representative/employee that had the authority and knowledge to answer my question intelligently. My question is: The control for cutting height on a scale 1 through 8 - there's no way that 8 represents I'm cutting my grass 8 inches tall. I prefer to cut my grass between 3 and 3-1/2 inches so what part of your scale would I set the mower to?

I'm either stupid or you need to explain in your manual in more detail what each one of these adjustments mean in inches for the AMERICAN consumer.
