    Question:
I have just purchased a Poulan Pro 400E electric with 18 inch bar and it is a blast to use. I have been running it a total of maybe 3 or 4 hours though and I notice that the bar & chain oil has not gone down at all, and there is no oil residue anywhere. There is no smoke to indicate the chain isn't getting oil either though. I hesitate to continue using it until I am sure the chain is getting the oil it needs. I am not using Poulan oil, but it is good oil, recommended by my local outdoor tools shop.

Thank you for contacting the AnswerARMY.

It is upsetting that you have experienced this issue.

You should be using a tank of oil to approximately 20 minutes of operation. I would ask you to unplug the machine and disassemble the bar cover so that you can clean and check the oiler hols in the bar. If you continue to have concerns with the unit not oiling then you should take it to the nearest authorized Poulan service center so they can check the oil pump.

Scott thank you this answered my question. I removed the bar and chain so I could see where the oil was SUPPOSED to be dispensed from, and ran the saw for about 15 or 20 seconds. No oil ever appeard.  I will take it to my nearest service center.
