    Question:
Dealer problems made me leave husqvarna for good !

Took my 562xp chainsaw to a dealer last year and it was there for months. i was told it would cost 100.00 to fix it. Called husqvarna to escalate getting the part for the dealer only to have the dealer tell me it did the same thing with the new part. This chainsaw was 2 years old and never abused. with husqvarnas help the dealer was finally able to get it running but was not sure if it was right or not. They told me it the total was over 300.00. i complained about this that i was not called before they had this money into it. so in the end i never picked up this expensive saw and got rid of all husqvarna products that I own. I have went with Stihl. i will never ever buy or recommend any husqvarna product to anyone as long as I live. I lost a lot of money here with the dealer ripping me off. They have my saw and will resell it all at my loss. Husqvarna was no help with any of this ! Choose wisely and don;t buy anything husqvarna. go with a reputable company and buy Stihl products

      Don,

Sorry to hear of your experience, It may not be too late.

First, Its unethical for a Dealer to quote one price, and then charge you three times that price, unless you agreed that you wanted it fixed no matter how much it costs.

Next, I would go back to the dealer, and throw a hundred dollar or what ever you agreed to pay, on the counter and demand your chainsaw back, with maybe the threat If you can't get this resolved you will be writing the "Better Business Bureau".

Or you could pay the full amount he requested, ask for an itemized receipt of the work he performed, and then write the Better Business Bureau. A Dealer should Not be allowed to get away with that kind of Business.

Finally, If you get the chainsaw back from the Dealer, even If you have to pay the full amount and your really not happy with Husqvarna Brand, you can always sell a Husqvarna chainsaw on the Internet, and get more money then what you paid. I would luv to have a nice model 562 Husqvarna.

Also just curious, What was wrong with your chainsaw ? I work on these models all of the time, and have never had one that I could not fix, and most of the time I fix them for free or just the cost of the parts, Its a hobby for me. I luv Husqvarna chainsaws, So please go get your chainsaw back, and Please write the Better Business Bureau, a Dealer like that should not be allowed to stay in business.

      Karla,

PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative  or Repair Service, I am  Just an experimental chainsaw person.

        Karla,

thanks for your response !  HoweverI have already done away with everything that i own husqvarna, including trimmers, garden tractor,3 chainsaws.  The loss of this expensive saw took its toll on me.  i was in direct contact with husqvarna on this.  my escalation was 94025380 and I could get no further assistance than to get the part shipped to the dealer.  they said carburetor(which i thought very unusual) as I take care of my equipment well.  the dealer finally got the carb, put it on, and called me telling me the saw ran the same . a month later they called and told me they installed the carb and it seemed to be working(though sounded like not sure for how long) and they had worked with husqvarna to fix it. they then also told me they had a little over 300.00 into it.  Please note: I told them specifically to call me also if it would be more than the 100-120.00 charge. they did not do so !  i have never went there to get my chainsaw.  It was enough for me to leave Husqvarna for good.  i still wonder why one minute they install a carburetor and it doesn't work and then they tell me they install it again and it works.  but to lay things to rest, I am willing to take the 700 or so loss to be able to deal with a reputable company.  i have purchased 2 stihl chainsaws, a blower, trimmer plus a John deere lawn tractor since.  I already see a huge difference between the ms362 stihl against the 562xp that i lost due to dealer fraud. So I am happy in the end ! hopefully husqvarna will do something in the future to better take care of their customers and better educate their dealers  and weed o9ut the bad ones like I dealt with. i would never do work for a person and not call them if the charge was going to be higher than I had quoted ! It is not worth my time nor effort to go and get that saw and confront them with this.  i just do not need the AGGRAVATION ANYMORE.
