Question:
We just purchased a YT42LS mower. The serial number is 057814A003465. Can someone tell us what model year that is? We were expecting a maximum 4 inch cutting height, it only shows 3 1/2 inches max on the fender. And the Operators Manual is from 2013. Would appreciate a reply. Thank you. Bud Meyer
Answer
If it has Briggs or Kohler engine post the datecode or serial number of the engine and can get you with a year if the engine is the original one. I still learning on the decode the mower serial numbers.

Thanks for your reply Eugene. Our engine is Kawasaki. The 2015 mowers look much different than what was derived to us.

I am just independent small repair shop owner and I am still learning as much can about Husqvarna equipment in order to provide better support for my own customers. I also helping users online whenever I can.
From what I can tell it was manufactured in 2014. I just not sure and it would be best if you call the customer service number.

I do know that some dealers may have inventory on have hand a year or longer depending how fast they are turning over inventory.
