    Question:
I have Husqvarna Z246. Had it about a month. Getting used to it! As far as cleaning the mower deck, manual strictly says no water on the deck top. Can you explain why. I usually blow the top off and if I do use water, I will always blow the excess water off. And as far as the hose adapter on the deck to to clean the underside, is it really effective? I slid under the deck the other day and the bottom was not very clean and very wet. can I stick to old fashioned putty knife and elbow grease when it dry?
    Thank you.

Personally that doesn't make make much sense here either as these mower sit out in the rain at both dealer's and homeowner's places. They will get wet no matter what. Your procedure should be fine as long you don't wet clump of clipping remain on the top of the deck.

As for the deck underside you can scrape off the old build up. The deck wash port is for clipping that hasn't dried and struck the deck housing. For my personal use I tried not cutting grass when it is wet to reduce this build up.

In general I have seen lots of deck problem where homeowners don't clear the clipping after each use. A few larger ztrs have fans under each spindle pulley to keep grass grass blown off the top of the deck. So nice work on these as I don't need dig out all the clippings before repairs.
