    Question:
Snowthrower ST927 E. Drive wheels go in reverse but not forward. I replaced the friction wheel and the belt. It still does not go. What should my next step be?

Hi Steve: Does the drive lever itself go into a forward speed gear notch on the control panel?

Alan, the gear shift does operate OK. The reverse gear will go, but it is weak. I am able to hold it from going with little effort.

Look in your owners manual about how to adjust the traction lever, it may just be a simple adjustment. You can get a copy here on this web site if needed.

Alan, thanks for your continued help. I adjusted the lever as recommended in owners manual, still no go. I tightened the cable, still no go. I tipped it up while running and it appears that the wheel and the disk aren't in tight enough contact.

Steve: Without being there in person it's hard to tell what's up. Usually however the rule of thumb with snow throwers is that

when you have reached the limits of adjustment and the problem still persists when cables or belts are involved the cable or belt has either worn or stretched beyond limits and must be replaced.

I guess that I will have to take it to the repair guy. Thank you so very much for your time and effort. Merry Christmas!
