Question:
I purchased a popular Pro chainsaw from Sears on 04/12/13. Saw was used on 3 occasions ( homeowner use only) to cut down small trees. The saw died and I was not able to get it started.
I subsequently located an authorized dealer from Poulan's website. The service center checked the saw and informed me that the saw is not repairable because the piston is scored. I was told the usual reasons for that happening are either low oil to gas ratio or the saw overheated.
I contacted Poulan and was told that my warranty was void because it was basically operator error that I ran the saw low on oil..
I maintain that that was not the case. I mixed the oil to gas properly, the oil that came with the saw in the case along with an extra chain and tools. Poland refuses to acknowledge that there is a possibility that the saw was overheating and that is why the saw seized up. I was told my only redress is this website.
Details:
I feel that Poulan is using this as an excuse in order to try to not honor it's warranties.
I have previously owned a Poulan chain saw and was very satisfied with it for many years.
I am very disappointed with the response I received from your phone representative regarding the warranty. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was directed to this site.
I must saw that if I do not receive a satisfactory reply I will give your products a negative rating and not purchase or recommend them to friends and family members.
