Question:
Fuel:Oil Ratio when using premixed SEF?
I have both 346XP and 576XP saws, and have been running them both using NY State 93RON with Husqvarna Synthetic premix @50:1. I have recently been thinking about switching to VP's 50:1 SEF (small engine fuel) which is ethanol free 94RON mixed with a "high quality synthetic."
Reading through the manual for the 576XP in the "Fuel" section, it states that the premix ratio is 50:1 when using a Husqvarna oil, but 33:1 when using a JASO FB or ISO EGB certified oil, whereas the manual for the 346XP just says the mixture is 50:1 and does not bother to differentiate.
I realize there's probably not a heck of a lot of difference, but I like to take care of my quality equipment, and this sort of thing makes me curious.
VP sells their SEF in both 40:1 and 50:1, so I guess I'm asking which one would work best for both of my saws. Lets assume for the moment, that cost is not an issue.

Hi Kurt
Thanks for contacting Husqvarna to post your questions.
All Husqvarna units run on a 50:1 mixture. Care should be taken when choosing mixing oil. The best oil has a JASO -FD rating. The JASO- FB is not as good.
The pre-mixed fuels are the best. Just make sure the fuel shows the oil in the mix to be rated at JASO-FD and purchase the 50:1 package.
