Question:
I have a HU 625AWD. It hit a stump a few weeks ago. Now it starts right away, runs for a few minutes and dies (smokes). It smells very strong of gas. I fan it and wait a few minutes, and it restarts right away again, runs for a few minutes, dies, and smells like gas again. I cannot see a leak.
Answer
Depending which engine you have the auto choke may be stuck closed.

It's a Briggs & Stratton 6.25 engine, and yes I believe it is an auto choke. I guess I need to pull the engine cover to get to it. Thanks.

If it smells like gas when it shuts off and smoke/steam comes out on the right (muffler/exhaust location), would that be a sign the auto choke is stuck? If so, how do I get to it and "unstick" it? Thanks in advance

Apparently the autochoke was stuck, but also I see gas running out the bottom of the air filter. I cannot find a leak.
