Leaf Blowers

Last year I purchased a refurbished 150BT blower for use around my own yard. While I was blowing some leaves it lost power and seems to have developed a knock like it's about to throw a rod. Is this sound like something typical that goes wrong or did I get the lemon? I'm a mechanic by trade so I don't expect the work to be too difficult. What's the best way to get parts?
