String Trimmers

purchased a string trimmer 8.19.13 at Lowes. Assembled the trimmer only to discover that the wing nut and bolt for the guard was not in the box, I tried call the customer service number automation transfered me twice and then silence then disconnected.
After 10 attempts to try to get some help on getting this small part I have gotten nowhere.
