Question:
Sept 20 I bought a PLN1514 from Lowe's. Last weekend I cut down an Oleander 6" trunk and a few 2" branches. The rest of the branches were cut with a hand clipper as the wood is very soft.
Problem: When I went to cut down a 3" branch of another soft wood tree the PLN1514 wouldn't cut it and I had to use a hand saw to do the job. My neighbor said the chain was dull to the point of it being almost like a dull knife. I tried cutting some small hedges, but it tore the branches rather than cut them.
Question: Is the original chain that came with the saw supposed to be able to make more than a few cuts or do I have to replace the chain each time I do some cutting ?
FYI: The saw was properly prepared before cutting and appeared to be operating correctly. However, if the chain has to be replaced each time I use it, then I would like to return the saw and get my money back so that I can purchase a better quality saw.
Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Art,
Thank you for contacting Husqvarna. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with the saw.
If the chain hits the ground when cutting a fallen tree you will either have to replace the chain or have it sharpened .
Also making sure the oil tank is full and oiling properly. If you have this issues after these steps you can take it to a servicing dealer and have them check the saw out.
Thanks again.
