Question:
Just purchased a 435 and the hole for the nose sprocket grease is larger than any other saw I own... including other Huskies. When I use the std. grease fitting it comes out from the sides of the hole and doesn't penetrate to the sprocket... what gives? Is/are there two sizes of fittings I need to have for my grease gun?
Answer
Big Tim,
I just looked at the Model 435 sprocket nose, and I agree with you. I may not have a good answer, but I agree it will be difficult to grease. It almost looks like an oil hole, where you can squirt some bar chain oil into it to lubricate the nose sprocket. I am curious If the owners manual says to grease the nose sprocket or Lubricate the nose sprocket, In which case a squirt of oil may be all that it need occassionally. Just a thought!
Please double check the recommendations of your owners manual, I would be curious too, If they have gone to just lubrication with oil?
I hope this helps

No, the verbal and pictorial instructions show a grease "gun" (just like other brand and Husky saws).

Tim,
Just some follow up, and curious If you resolved the problem with the nose sprocket grease fitting?
I just received a new chainsaw with a bar on it which also had the larger diameter grease hole in the bar tip. The chainsaw came with its own little squatty grease gun and some grease, and I was surprized. I compared my old chainsaw grease gun to the new one, and Indeed their is a differrent shapped grease fitting, as stated in your original question. It is a much squattier tip, not so pointy as my old one and it fills the sprocket nose very easily.
So again, just curious If you resolved your problem ?
PS. I also did a rough measurement of the sprocket nose grease hole on my Older Husqvarna, and it was 2 mm, and my newer chainsaw bar, the same hole is now 4 mm, so twice the size. I hope this helps.

Tim,
I looked at my accessory kit, that came with the chainsaw, and the squatty plastic grease gun, Is part # 501 911 401. It only holds a couple ounces of grease so you constantly need to refill it. If you use it for the bar nose only I'm guesssing I get about 6 uses out of it.
I also tried to find it by part #, thru one of the parts places where I buy some of my parts, and it said " it is no longer available", so maybe its been discontinued.
I have also included a picture, so that maybe you can match it up with a fitting that will fit your grease gun, also you have the part number, In the event that you may be able to find one still in stock at your Dealer.
The fitting on the grease gun is very blunt or broad pointed, and it fits the larger bar nose nicely, Sorry I don't have any other help for you, but I guess I will make sure that I don't lose the one that I have, and also hope that it keeps working, Lol.
PS. I am Not a Husqvarna Representative or an Authorized Repair, just an experimental chainsaw person

Tim,
Just a follow up, and curious If you found a grease fitting for the larger diameter sprocket nose grease hole?
Coincidently - I just found an entire tool kit for $4.99, which includes the squatty grease gun & fitting, plus a little grease, the gun is refillable, it also includes a scrench/ combo tool and a couple of other allens that fit my chainsaw, I ordered one for $4.99 which is a great deal, and I have received it. It is exactly the same as the discontinued grease gun that I mentioned earlier, so here is the link: Husqvarna 575 43 92-01 OEM Tool 575439201

Oops - I see that the price, just went up to $5.70, still a great deal since some of the Combo/ screnches alone are more than that by themselves.

Hi Karla,
Bailey's shows them out of stock but still took the order, as though they think they'll be getting more in, so I ordered it. THANKS so much for the heads up. I'd given up finding one as the Husqvarna site shows them as "discontinued".
Thanks again,
Tim
