    Question:
I can not start my brand new lawn mower (HU800AWD). I have fresh gasoline. I have tried a new spark plug and filter which I shouldn't need since it has only been used around 5 times.

This is my second mower. The first one was defective with a leaky gasoline tank. I am very frustrated with this mower!

What else could be the issue?

Same thing happened to me . I removed the air filter and gave it a small shot of starting fluid in the intake to the carburator and she took right off. Hope yours does too.

Thanks for the response.  I am not sure I know where the carburator is or where I might find starting fluid.  In the meantime, I took it back to Lowes for repair.  Oh, and I decided to buy a a tractor (John Deere).

I had the same problem.  My spark plug was fried after 2 rounds of mowing the lawn -- less than 10 hours run time.  I did finally get it to start with a new spark plug -- but be careful you pick the right one.  for some reason the manual mentions 2 types, but specifies one of those for pressure washers.  the one I bought had to be gaped down to the specs in the manual was a fare bit off out of the package.

      Best of luck.

Perhaps you got a 'lemon' mine is also, and I am an engineer and know about things mechanical.   Mine ran fine the first season, this second season the thing caught on fire briefly because intake valve stuck open.  Now it sheared the attachment to the blade.   It is becoming an expensive headache!

My HU800AWD is a year old - the first season ran OK.  Now it is nothing but trouble.
